VACILLATED ABOUT VOTING?
My name had been registered 5 months ago but even when the day for voting neared I did not come by my election card. All my friends were in the same situation and told me very plainly, “this was not the time where we get to vote. Our election cards would be sent to us the next year.” I would be 19 then though. What about my right to vote at the age of 18 then?
Still when I saw the news in the morning they said that we could vote if we were in possession of either of the following – pan card, ration card, bank passbook etc. I had all of the above. So, armed with my pan card and very excited, I strutted to the voting center with my parents.
Curse my bad luck or the badly working system but I was not allowed to vote since my name did not figure in the voting list. The advertisements blame the people for not voting but what about the lazy officials who delayed and failed to put my name on the list. After all 5 months is time enough. So I guess after my first bad experience with voting I wouldn’t be too excited the second time and now I won’t even blame the public for criticizing the government or for not voting. But still the Indian in me is ready to compromise and I’m now looking forward to voting for the “Assembly Elections”!

Techological Gibberish?
Hi everyone, hope you are having a nice day.
Mine had a little wobbly start. As it goes...
I got a new digital camera yesterday and after some time I removed the batteries and packed it. when I put the batteries back on into the camera it wouldn't work! I tried again and again and cursed my bad luck. crap! just one day and I had spoilt my camera. Was almost in tears today morning when I finally opened my 'getting started guide' for the 100th time and went through it. In the batteries instruction it stated two different ways in which you put the batteries. I stared at it 4 some time and then put the batteries back on into the camera, but this time they were inserted differently. the + indicated in the camera now was adjacent to the - of the battery. and guess what it worked!
I released a gr8 sigh of relief.
hmm... technology and I don’t go together all too well, do they?!

Bracing Up
I still remember the two years of my life I spent with my mouth full of steel. Braces were a dreadful addition especially for a person as talkative as I was. At first I hardly opened my mouth and responded with a simple yes or a no, but then later returning to my basic nature I got used to my steel barrier. My smiles were always bright and toothy which became a problem when my mouth was prominently displayed, shining brightly in my yearly class group photograph. But carefree as I was I stopped minding the teasing comments from my friends and family.
The most memorable incidence in the course of my braced life occurred to me when I went to live with my grandparents during my Diwali vacation. I am a huge foodie and the array of delicacies spread around the table during the diwali festival made me drool. But unfortunately my braces kept me from eating hard cuisine. Not losing hope I stuffed myself with sweets that melted in my mouth. mmmm....
But one fine day a third cousin whom I had never met before visited our house with her parents and guess what she had braces too. this common trait bonded us at once! leaving our earlier generation to have their chat we left the house and went out to the park for a walk. Jaywalking was one of my worst attributes and when I was busy conversing I paid no attention as to where my legs lead me. As it turned out to be I crashed into a girl who appeared to be at least 5 years older to me. I said sorry and backed up and discovered that I had accidentally sullied her dress. the older girl came onto me and looked like she was in a very good mood for a fight. My cousin whimpered behind me. I spoke to her consolingly and we together backed up to run out of the park. but the older girl was much faster. she spotted our common trait and meanly made fun of our braces. I looked unshaken so she directed her anger towards my cousin; who soon started sobbing. The next thing I know, I was flying at this big girl and we had a huge brawl. At the end of it both of us were lying on the ground. My cousin picked me up and we were out of the place in microseconds. My parents questioned my dirty clothes and the few bruises on my hand but we kept our secret.
I am still in connection with my distant third cousin. We have both lost our braces but we still remember that those metallic barriers helped us to brace up against difficult situations in our lives.

Daft Dreams?
I am a very vivid dreamer. oh no, I’m not talking about daydreaming. I do that too on a large scale of time but right now I am focusing upon the unconscious dreams that I experience and recollect in the morning after I wake up. some of them are related to my day to day domestic and college life but mostly I am adept at dreaming weird stuff. now u may ask me what weird stuff? so I will define it to you through my most recent and scary dream.
Its night time. I hear a sound outside so I go and stand in my balcony. I look down- as I live on the 1st floor it’s not a long way down - and see an auto rickshaw standing still. after a few seconds I see a woman wearing a bright red-yellow sari climb into the rik. The auto driver starts the rickshaw and prepares to leave when the woman notices me looking at her. The vehicle moves ahead so that I can’t see her anymore, for which I feel a little bit relieved but it did not last long. The woman leaned sideways and looked back at me. She gave me a slow frightening smile. I could feel my heart thumping and at last a scary weird thing I had been unconsciously waiting for occurred. The woman’s head rotated 180 degrees and back again. I gave a loud scream in my dream and then woke up.
experienced any such strange or weird dreams or the sort of which you find difficult to forget then share it here with me and yeah please if you think you can interpret my dream then you are very much welcome to do it! I would really want to know why that lady frightened me so!

My Life Wid Books
Call me a bookworm, a nerd or a dreamer - but that’s exactly what I love being!
My friends get irritated at times as they don’t understand my obsessive need to stick my nose into novels.
I bet most of you enjoy reading, huh? I hope u do. Post in your comments on your favourite books and also the books that you think we should avoid reading!
A list of my favourite books are-
Gone with the Wind - by Margaret Michelle
If Tomorrow Comes -by Sidney Sheldon
Veronica decides to Die - by Paulo Coelho
The entire Harry Potter series!
Twilight series
Books by Dr. Brian Weiss
The da Vinci code - by Dan brown
If you are looking for romance books try Johanna Lindsay’s collections;
psychotic horror! then read Kay Hooper’s books.
Well the list of good books goes on. I bet I have skipped most of the good books - absentminded as I am. as soon as I remember them I’ll post it down. till then give in the names of the books close to your hearts. We could have a healthy discussion on them!
